And the city has taken the unusual step of levying additional fees on customers who are behind in paying the credit. Taxi prices in Kansas City have jumped steadily in recent years - often undercutting the city's cheaper transportation options, especially during the fall and winter months. This is a great way to save money, since it often costs about 10-15 dollars for the ride. Many times a taxi will go to the next exit or stoplight before the fare is determined. You will most likely get a ride within an hour. When you see a driver negotiate the price at the meter, you can get the price. For taxis in the local area, the price is about $2-3 in the lower level.
